Mid Auchengowan is only two miles away from the picturesque village of Lochwinnoch (1 mile from Lochwinnoch train station). We are up on the Beltrees Hills, where we enjoy the most spectacular views over Castle Semple Loch and the Clyde Muirshiel Park.


Glasgow Airport is only 15 min away (£15 taxi ride), and we can reach Glasgow's City Centre and the exciting nightlife of the Finnieston area and the Hydro in less than 30 min. 



Lochwinnoch is a village that continues to grow, while retaining a sense of identity, and elements like Auld Simon add considerable charm.  The town also serves as an important centre for watersports. The Castle Semple Country Park, on the south edge of the town, is home to many rowing regattas and other activities such as walking, sailing, water sports, cycling and wildlife opportunities held on Castle Semple Loch.


Lochwinnoch Nature Reserve

A great example of wetlands in Scotland, Lochwinnoch is an ideal day out for all the family. It's the perfect spot to watch whooper swans, wigeons and a wide variety of ducks during the winter. In spring, look out for the elaborate displays of great crested grebes. Read more here


Lochwinnoch Golf Club

Lochwinnoch is an attractive parkland course, situated in mature tree-lined surroundings. with outstanding views over the Loch and conservation village of Lochwinnoch. The course appeals to all levels of golfer and each hole offers a fair but challenging test.  Lochwinnoch Golf Club is situated just a few miles west of Glasgow Airport and in easy reach of some of the worlds finest Golf Courses – Royal Troon, Loch Lomond & Gleneagles to name but a few.


Greenacres Curling

Situated in the heart of Scotland, just SW of Paisley the ancient origin of the Roarin’ Game, and within line of sight of Ailsa Craig, source of the granite from which curling stones are made, were are within 20 mins of Glasgow and Prestwick Airports.

The home rink of 2002 Olympic Champion skip Rhona Martin and a venue that hosts national and international competitions seasonally.

With six lanes of ice, 48 curlers can play at one time, while the hire of curling shoes, brushes and expert coaching is always available.

Largs Marina

Largs Marina is only 25 min away from Mid Auchengowan. Set in the sheltered, scenic waters of the Clyde, Largs is home to an impressive 730 berths offering the comprehensive facilities and exceptional customer service you would expect of a Five Gold Anchor Marina. Voted Marina Of The Year 2017.

  • The Coach House, Bridge of Weir: a Buzzworks venue, cousin of Scotts at Largs Marina, it offers very trendy interiors, a crowd-pleasing menu and a great drinks list


  • Braidwoods, Dalry - The only Michelin starred restaurant in the area. Well worth a trip. Delicious, top quality food and wine, without breaking the bank
